|||
Key Info | |||
"Exor's protection is gone!" signifies that you can damage his body. |
Exor's Eyes protects its body by making it highly resistant to any damage and status effects, so it is best to defeat one of them first! When an eye is defeated, it will display a swirling pupil and Exor's loss of protection will be signifed by a message on the top right. You can then focus on the hilt of the sword, Exor.
Taking down Exor's Mouth is optional since its large set of special moves can be a nuisance. You can skip to damaging Exor's body immediately if you can manage your party's survival.
Exor's eyes and mouth will regenerate throughout the battle. Focus on taking down Exor's eyes to prevent the body from staying protected.
Special Move | Effect |
---|---|
Geno Whirl (Mario) |
・Deals 9999 damage to non-boss enemies on successful Action Command timing. ・Press the button as it hits the enemy |
The 9999 damage trick to Exor has been carried over to the remake from the original game! When using Geno's Geno Whirl, time the Action Command as it hits the enemy to deal 9999 damage when his protection is gone.
If there is a bit of difficulty in timing, try adjusting your button press to the moment as the projectile leaves the screen.
Taking out the Left Eye is recommended since it has lower HP than the Right Eye, and it has one of the the most dangerous moves also of the two.
This will allow you to deal with Exor more efficiently overall!
Special Move | Effect |
---|---|
Ultra Jump (Mario) |
・Time your button presses every time Mario lands on the enemy to increase damage and jump again. ・You can time Ultra Jump on an enemy up to 100 times. |
Exor's eyes are weak to Mario's Ultra Jump special move and can also damage other parts of his body, so feel free to use it aggressively as much as you can!
Best Special Moves for Each Character
Special Move | Effect |
---|---|
Geno Boost (Geno) |
・Increases a member's attack power. ・Timing your button press just before the arrow disappears will also increase your defense. |
Since Mario will be your main attacker in this fight, it would be best to buff his damage output with Geno's Geno Boost special move. Time this move to also boost defense, and make sure to use this regularly for sustained high damage!
Special Move | Effect |
---|---|
Mute (Peach) |
・Silences one enemy. ・Affect multiple enemies by rotating the left stick clockwise (counterclockwise is also possible). |
Peach serves a recovery and support role in this fight. Prioritize keeping your team's HP high. If your party's overall HP is not low, you can have her focus on using Mute on Exor.
Mute is exceptionally handy in this fight, since it allows the silencing of nearly every part of Exor except the body, considering that each part has a large set of special moves.
Exor's Mouth is capable of casting several special attacks that can make members sleep such as Aurora Flash. You can use the item Freshen Up or Peach's Group Hug to heal any status effects in case your members are put to sleep!
Look out also for S'Crow Bell, which can turn a member of your party into a Scarecrow and Gunk Ball which silences party members.
Having accessories like the Safety Ring equipped to a member will protect them from being affected by status effects.
At Exor's disposal are mostly party-wide elemental attacks and Carni-Kiss, a strong single-target physical attack that is fairly hard to block, look out for this one!
Make sure to heal from time to time, since Exor can fairly deal large amounts of damage with it's multi-target special attacks.
