To begin progress on unlocking the Smoke Bomb Compressor, you need to finish the Mechanic Expert Quest.
Once finished, you will receive the Key Part Intel for the Smoke Bomb Compressor.
The Mechanic Location and Quest Walkthrough
| 1 | Head to the Intel Area |
|---|---|
 After receiving the intel for the Smoke Bomb Compressor, head to the area shown above and use speeder boost to push through the strong winds in the cave. |

| 2 | Use the Grappling Hook to Traverse |
 Once you arrive in the area, use the Grappling Hook to climb up near the yellow pipes. Afterwards, head left to cross the gap with your Grappling Hook again. |
|
| 3 | Wait for the Winds to Pass |
 The path forward is blocked by intermittent, but strong winds. Wait for the winds to pass before crossing. |
|
| 4 | Defeat the Varaki |
 After passing through two wind sections, defeat the Varaki up ahead. Afterwards, head right and climb the wall with yellow pipes to progress forward. |
|
| 5 | Shoot the Capacitor |
 On the way, you will find a small cave with a nearby capacitor. To cross, shoot the capacitor with with an Ion blaster bolt to stop the winds momentarily. |
|
| 6 | Open the Door With Nix |
 After heading inside the cave room, shoot the nearby capacitor again and order Nix to hold one of the levers to open the way forward. You'll also get an Overgrown Amber Stone Major Charm from one of the chests on the way. |

| 7 | Open the Chest |
 Afterwards, head left to ride the elevator. You can find the Smoke Bomb Compressor inside a big chest, which will unlock the Smoke Bomb ability. |
