This is a speedrun guide and walkthrough for Resident Evil Requiem (RE9). Learn how to finish in under 4 hours and see the tips and rewards in this guide!

These are the completion times for each section of the story on Casual Difficulty, without Infinite Ammo. It should help you know how long to finish each part to manage your time better.

For Grace's playthrough, just focus on the objectives and ignore the files all over the place to finish faster.
On Leon's turn, get the supplies that you need before starting. After that, simply run past the zombies on the road (don't engage in combat) to finish in around 7 minutes.

Care Center is the longest part in the story, specifically for Grace. The best way to finish this section fast using Grace is to ignore most of the enemies, not to go stealth, and complete the puzzles with precision. If you get surrounded by zombies, stagger one of them and then go for a melee attack to open up a path.
For Leon's playthrough, head straight to Victor's Office after killing Chunk. Try not to wander out of the way to shorten your time in this section.
Passing Through the Chef Trick
You can save a minute or two during Grace's playthrough by not sneaking past the Chef and pushing the cart. Let him spot you, dodge the attack, and run quickly to the next room after he finishes swinging his knife.

Care Center Basement

Grace is the only playable character in the Care Center Basement. You should go around the area without hiding and sneaking as much as you can to save more time. You can place one of the Joint Plugs in the Furnace so you can have a safe spot against The Girl.

Completely ignore other items and puzzles in the house leading to the underground facility as Grace in the Care Center Courtyard. You can also pass through the enemies without shooting them with the spray or gun once the facility goes into self-destruct mode.
For Leon's playthrough, the time will depend on how fast and accurately you can kill the zombies that go after Grace and the boss fight against Blister Borne.

Water Treatment Plant

The Water Treatment Plant is a Grace only section where she fights another Shadow Ghost. The best strategy here is to activate the power distribution units without fear and doing any detours.
If Shadow Ghost blocks your way, simply stun her by shooting the Requiem at her face to pass her.

East Raccoon City

East Raccoon City is by far the largest map in the game. You can finish this area faster if you ignore most of the zombies that are not in your way, and reduce the number of times you interact with the supply box. Avoid exploring areas with no relation to the main objective as well, as traveling from one place to another takes several minutes.
For the Titan Spinner (Giant Spider) boss fight, try to ascend the building quickly and use your big guns after to kill it fast.
Raccoon City Center

Focus on unlocking the door to where Grace and Zeno is in the RPD to trigger the Orphanage sequence. After that, quickly escape the building from Mr. X and head over to Gun Shop Kendo.
Mr. X will face you beside the Basketball Court once you pass through the save point there. You can finish the boss fight quickly by using the Requiem and shooting his heart.
You will need to fight the Plant 43 next as you go deeper underground to where ARK is. You can end this fast by using your Sniper Rifle or SMGs.
Raccoon City Center Walkthrough
Orphanage

The Orphanage section of the game overlaps with the Raccoon City Center. It will let you control the child version of Grace around the Orphanage.
The Children in this section can kill you instantly once caught, so try to be patient and sneak around instead of the doing the same head-on strategy on the other stages.

ARK

ARK is the final area of the story where you can both play as Grace and Leon. During Grace's playthrough, craft tons of Bottle of Acid to kill the Licker B2s quickly. They are a huge threat to Grace, as they can instantly kill her if caught by the leaping attack. You can ignore the other zombies to save time.
You can use the same strategy on Leon's playthrough, which is to kill the Licker B2s and ignore the regular zombies. Try not to be reckless against the Elite Guards as well, as they have the power to shred Leon's HP fast. For the Commander boss fight, unleash your parrying skills to end the fight quickly.
Release Elpis at the End
After reaching the end where Grace needs to choose the password, make sure to select Release Elpis at the end. You won't be able to get the Speed Demon Trophy if you choose to destroy Elpis, even if you finish in under 4 hours.

Speedrun on Casual Difficulty
Select Casual Difficulty to have a faster time clearing the game. While it is possible to do so on higher difficulties, there are no actual achievements or trophies you can benefit from for speedrunning them.
You can still do it in other game difficulties if you want to challenge yourself and set a record.
Difficulty Setting Differences and How to Change
Memorize the Objectives and Puzzles
Some objectives and puzzle will take a lot of time to solve if you aren't familiar with them. Scroll up to the walkthrough section above and memorize them to progress quickly and save up some time.
Use Special Content Weapons
The weapons in the Special Content menu are all powerful weapons. It is possible to speedrun without them, but it will take you less time to clear objectives that require killing, like fighting bosses and elite enemies.
You can try to complete challenges first to earn CP for unlocking them. You can do that by doing another run before you start speedrunning the game. You can also get in the Infinite Gun Ammo, so you don't have to spend time crafting or scavenging for resources.
Avoid Stealth if Possible
Sneaking around is safer but it takes a lot of time just to pass through and get to the objective. If there are enemies that can't kill you instantly, it's better to run straight at them and take the damage if it can't be helped, rather than to crouch and waste time.
Don't Open and Read the Files
Opening and reading the files doesn't pause the game and will continue to run the timer. It's best to ignore them and focus on the objectives to clear the playthrough faster.
Check Timer Via Challenges Menu
You can check the actual playthrough timer through the Challenges Menu. Scroll down until you see Speed Demon, where you can hover into to see the current time you have in your playthrough.
Pausing the Game Stops the Timer
You can pause the game to stop the timer to take a break or check out the walkthrough if you forgot how to complete an objective. You can also look over the puzzles to solve them quickly.
Grab Items Along the Way
If you're doing the speedrun without Infinite Ammo, it's best to grab items on the way to the objectives. You might get stuck in an area at some point and you don't have enough resources to use, so try to pick up some items along the way.
Save the Game if Needed
Saving during the speedrun doesn't have any demerit. You can save as many times as you want, and even quit the game if you must. You can pick up where you left off using your save files.
(Optional) Get Freya's Needle for Grace
Freya's Needle is a full-auto handgun that has a faster kill rate than the two base pistols for Grace. You can easily get the required CP to unlock it after finishing the game for the first time.

You can get the Speed Demon Trophy is you finish the game within 4 hours. You will also get 20,000 CP, which you can spend on the bonus contents of the game.

Infinite Ink Ribbon
You can also unlock the Infinite Ink Ribbon, which will allow you to save the game as Grace without a limit in Standard Classic or Insanity difficulty.
Should You Speedrun the Game?
Yes, for 100% Game Completion
Finishing the game through speedrunning is required if you're aiming for 100% completion of the game. You will need to finish the game under 4 hours to get one of the trophies needed for 100% completion, which is the Speed Demon Trophy.
You don't have to do this if you just want to casually play the game and see the ending.
