How to Get the Good Ending

Choose to Release Elpis to Get the Good Ending

In order to get the good ending of Resident Evil Requiem, make sure to choose the option to Release Elpis when you make the final choice in the ARK facility. Doing this allows Grace to figure out that Elpis is an antiviral that she can use to cure Leon's T-virus infection.

However, do note that by triggering this ending, Leon will be plunged headfirst into a final showdown against Victor Gideon - the true final boss of RE9. Defeat him to unlock the good ending cutscene.

Should You Release or Destroy Elpis

What Happens in the Good Ending?

Leon Lives and Grace Saves Emily

Throughout RE9, you'll have noticed that Leon and other Raccoon City survivors (like Sherry Birkin) are suffering from "latent onset T-virus syndrome". This is when traces of the T-virus mutate over a long period of time, causing hosts to eventually turn into zombies when enough of the virus has spread in their body.

By releasing Elpis and realizing that it's a cure and not a weapon, Grace is able to cure Leon. Similarly, Elpis is also used to cure Emily after Leon reveals to Grace that he did not shoot any of her vitals earlier in the main story.

The game ends with Leon back in the field and Grace taking in the now healthy Emily.
