Grace: Use the Hemolytic Injector

The easiest way to kill the Chef as Grace is by using the Hemolytic Injector. Sneak up behind the Chef and use the Hemolytic Injector to instantly kill him. He walks around the hallways of the west wing and going back to the Central Hall will always deaggro him, so it's easy to sneak up on him.

You can unlock the Hemolytic Injector recipe after analyzing the Blood Specimen (Denatured) in the Blood Lab of the East Wing. Once the recipe is unlocked, you can then craft it using 1 Scrap and 60mL of Infected Blood.

Shooting the Chef is an Option

Alternatively, you can take advantage of Grace's arsenal of handguns to take the Chef down.

If you have extra ammo for Requiem, you can use it to easily kill the Chef with a few shots. You could also use the S&S M232 since you're more likely to have ammo for this, but note that it will take longer and more ammo to do it this way.

How to Get Requiem Bullets

Leon: Stagger then Melee Attack

It takes about 15-20 bullets (depending on headshots) of Leon's Alligator Snapper to take down the Chef. Keep in mind that you start with around 50 bulelts in your Alligator Snapper and still have the option to pick up a lot more as Leon. By dealing headshot damage or shooting the chef's legs, you could also stagger the chef, which will allow you perform a melee finisher on him.

Recommended to save the Shotgun for Blister Heads later on

Because Leon has access to the MSBG 500, you can use it to easily take down the Chef. However, since shotgun ammo is pretty scarce in the Care Center, it's better to save your shotgun ammo for the Blister Heads in Leon's last area of the Care Center. Blister Heads lunge at you and are harder to deal with using a handgun, and the last area locks you in a room against a lot of them at once.

Grenades can Easily Kill the Chef

Alternatively, you can also kill the Chef using Grenades. If you plan to go this route, either wait for the Chef to stand still or predict where he is going, as the Grenade has a 2-second fuse.

Killing the chef will make it drop the Pantry Key. This allows you to open the Pantry, which is connected to the Kitchen. Take note that if you kill the Chef as Grace and open the Pantry, it will remain open for Leon.

Inside the Pantry, you will find Scrap, Handgun Ammo, and 12.7x55mm Ammo (Requiem Bullets). You will also find the Stakeout Takeout Charm for Grace, as well as the Connoisseur Charm inside the cabinet for Leon.

Should you Kill the Chef as Grace or Leon?

Easier to Kill the Chef as Grace

Thanks to the Hemolytic Injector, you can easily take the Chef down without putting Grace in danger. This allows you to get all of the rewards in the Pantry as Grace, leaving only the Connoisseur Charm for Leon.

This would mean you have to wait till after you get access to the east wing before taking down the Chef, which is still earlier than waiting until you're able to explore the Care Center as Leon.
