Master the Art of Parrying
You can only damage and progress through this boss fight by parrying the Commander. You can hit him back with your Hatchet after parrying his attacks.
Try to damage him only after successfully parrying his attack, as he also knows how to parry. You will be able to get his weapon, Mortal Edge, after the boss fight.
Don't Shoot the Commander
Shooting the Commander won't deal any damage even if you see the bullets hit him. You don't have to use any gun to beat him and just conserve your ammo for the next enemies.
(First-Person) Lower Camera Angle
If you're playing on First-Person POV, it's best to adjust the camera slightly to the ground instead of head level. The Commander will strike low and you won't be able to see him clearly if you're looking at head level.
You will be able to see his attacks better this way, allowing you to parry more frequently.
Is the Commander HUNK?
Currently Unconfirmed
The Commander's fighting style and outfit look similar to HUNK's. However, the game doesn't mention or confirm yet if they are the same person.
