Parry is a mechanic exclusive to Leon that can block and counterattack enemy attacks in Resident Evil Requiem (RE9). Read on to learn more about Parry in this guide!

Press the Parry Button Once the Attack is About to Hit

Parrying is a high risk, high reward mechanic in RE Requiem. You can land a counterattack and get some breathing room once successful, but get damaged if you fail. You can parry that by pressing the Parry button once the attack is about to land, so watch out for the attack animation.

You can get the Untouchable Trophy on your first successful parry. Note that parrying is only available for Leon, and it's not possible for Grace.

Parrying Doesn't Work on All Attacks

Parrying doesn't work on some attacks, like attacks with explosions, area-of-effect, traps, and some attacks from bosses. You can dodge to avoid the attack or block it instead to reduce the damage.

Leon Parry

Parry is a counterattacking mechanic available only for Leon. However, this comes with a risk as you can get damaged if you fail to parry at the exact moment before an attack hits.

If you're familiar with parrying in other RE titles, parrying should be easy to accomplish here, as the timing on most regular enemies is identical.

Sharpen the Axe to Repair It

Sharpen Axe

You won't be able to perform a parry if Leon's axe gets dull. Make sure to get some distance from the enemies and then sharpen the axe to repair it.
