Over-Spinning the Dial

If you spin the dial and accidentally go past a number from the code, this counts as a failure and you will not be able to open the safe. Even if you try to correct your dial input and go to the correct numbers, the game already treats the wrong number as an input. As such, you need to restart the puzzle and input the correct numbers from scratch.

Checking After Every Number

The game will also consider your code input as a failure if you select the Check option after each number input. Checking your input will restart the puzzle if it is wrong. Since you are only inputting one number out of a three-number code, the game will count it as a failure and restart the puzzle.

You simply just need to stop at the number before proceeding to the next one.

How to Open Safes

To properly open the safe, you must input each number of the code while alternating directions between each number. Once you input all three numbers, you can then Check the safe to open it.

Although the files specifiy the direction in which you need to turn the safe dials, you do not need to follow them. As long as you alternate directions between numbers, you will be able to open the safe.
