The doll in the cell is an interactable item you find in Resident Evil Requiem (RE9). Read on to learn if it has any uses related to the main story or the many puzzles in-game.

No, Since It Never Gets an Interact Prompt When Examined

No Interactions with the Doll in the Cell

At the time of writing, there does not seem to be a use for the doll in the cell. When the doll is examined, no interact prompt appears along any of its parts. Similarly, shooting the doll will not result in any visible change or reaction from the characters.

Note: This detail is significant since some items (like the Hourglass in the VIP Suite) will have additional interact prompts that modify the key item and make it relevant to the story.

Emily Gets No Interaction with It

If you carry Emily to the doll in the cell as Grace, she won't really comment on it. Nor will there be any interact prompts even if you bring Emily into the cell.

No Visible Changes During the Theorized Final Puzzle

The team tested if the doll in the cell had any resulting interactions available during certain steps of what is believed to be the game's Final Puzzle.

However, even after examining the Severed Hand and hearing the baby laugh from the sun puzzle, there seemed to be no visible change when interacting with the doll.

The Girl

When rescuing Emily from The Girl in the Care Center Basement, Grace will comment on its unnatural behavior of collecting dolls, hinting that The Girl could perhaps be the original owner of the doll in the cell.

By extension, perhaps this is the reason why it abducted Emily since it could potentially have seen her as similar to the dolls it collects.
