Wait for it to Stop Spinning

Spinning Chainsaw

You must wait for the chainsaw to stop spinning first when it is dropped to the ground before you can pick it up and use it. Trying to pick it up when it is spinning around will damage you, so be patient until it stops moving.

You will first encounter the doctor zombie who is wielding a chainsaw during Leon's portion in the Care Center section of the story.

Pick Up the Chainsaw

During the Care Center portion, more zombies will try to attack Leon, and they can pick up the chainsaw if you haven't yet. If possible, make sure to keep them away from the chainsaw and then pick it up immediately once it stops moving.

Can Grace Use the Chainsaw?

Only Available in Leon's Route

Open the Door Using Chainsaw

Grace cannot use the chainsaw, as it is only available during Leon's portion of the story.

Grace only has limited weapons she can use during her story segments of the game, unlike Leon, who can pick up and use enemy weapons during fights, aside from his own.
