Is HUNK in RE9?
Leon will fight a boss in Resident Evil Requiem (RE9) that bears a striking resemblance to HUNK. Read on to find out if HUNK appears in RE9 as the Commander boss in the ARK facility.

Is HUNK in RE9?
Not Confirmed, But Bears a Striking Resemblance to the Commander
While playing as Leon and exploring the ARK facility for the first time, you'll be intercepted by a man wearing a red-lensed gas mask. In-game text at the beginning of the boss fight will refer to him as the Commander.
Veterans of the series should be able to observe similarities between this masked "Commander" and the RE series's recurring character, HUNK. However, do note that the game does not explicitly say that the Commander is HUNK.
The Commander Uses the Same Melee Finisher as HUNK
Both the Commander and HUNK also end the finisher with their arms raised.
If Leon fails the grapple quick time event during the Commander boss fight (after the boss flashbangs Leon), he'll use what looks like HUNK's melee finisher from the Mercenaries mode of RE4 Remake.
Again, this is another nod towards HUNK and the Commander being the same person. However, similar to other "clues" related to the mysterious Umbrella agent, the game does not explicitly say that both the Commander and HUNK are one and the same.
Dropped Hatchet Seems to Describe HUNK's Grim Reaper Moniker

At the end of the Commander's boss fight, you'll get his hatchet called Mortal Edge. Its in-game description (above), seems like a nod to HUNK being referred to as the Grim Reaper. However, it can also just be a fluff description of a boss's dropped hatchet.
Commander and HUNK Share the Same Voice Actor
While the voice actor for the more recent HUNK appearance in RE2 Remake remains uncredited, previous HUNK appearances have had the same English VA in Keith Silverstein. In RE Requiem's credits, Keith Silverstein is shown to voice the Commander, which may suggest a link between the character and HUNK.
Does HUNK Die in RE9?
Has a Chance to Still be Alive
If you return to the Commander's boss room after Leon seemingly kills him, you'll find that his body has vanished. While it could just be a case of despawning assets, it could also mean that maybe the Commander survived and that there's still a chance that the game reveals that he was HUNK in a later installment.

Anonymous 17 daysHunk canonically never got injured in Raccoon City so he wouldn't be infected so it would make no sense if it was hunk
