Some Fans Debate Leon is 49 Years Old

Some fans believe that Resident Evil Requiem is set during 2026 instead and that Capcom is only saying 30 Years later as it sounds better than saying 28 years later. If this is true, this would make Leon a 49-year-old veteran instead.

Leon S. Kennedy is a returning protagonist who debuted in Resident Evil 2 which is set in Raccoon City during 1998. He was a rookie cop whose first day on duty is ruined by a zombie apocalypse in the city he was supposed to protect.

He, alongside Claire Redfield and Sherry Birkin, escaped Raccoon City before it got nuked due to the T-virus incident that made its residents zombies. Leon was 21 years old during these events.

Leon returns as the main protagonist during the events of Resident Evil 4 where he was forced to become an agent for the US government thanks to his survival in Raccoon City. They also threatened to experiment on Sherry Birkin due to her infection if he didn't cooperate.

Having no choice, Leon accepted and was trained for years until he was dispatched to a Spanish village to rescue Ashley Graham, the president's daughter who got kidnapped by the Los Illuminados cult.

Resident Evil 4 is set during 2004, 6 years after Resident Evil 2, making Leon 27 years old.

In RE6, Leon cooperated with Secret Service agent Helena Harper to uncover the C-Virus conspiracy that infected the US President.

Leon teamed up with other series protagonists like Chris Redfield and Ada Wong, as well as a new character named Jake Muller. They were determined to stop the C-Virus infection during the game's events.

Resident Evil 6 is set from December 2012 until July 2013, making Leon 35-36 years old at the time.
