Culminates 20 Years of CookieRun
CookieRun: NewWorld has just been confirmed for a 2029 release window, according to developer Devsisters. The 3D open-world RPG was the standout reveal at the Devsisters Online Showcase, livestreamed on YouTube, which also unveiled a lineup of CookieRun projects—from new titles to a major update for its mainstay RPG, CookieRun: Kingdom.
Previously teased as Project N last February, CookieRun: NewWorld is described CookieRun's "most ambitious title to date," set to roll out alongside the franchise's 20th anniversary in 2029. It features an expansive open world built on Unreal Engine and, unlike the IP’s other titles, which run only on mobile devices, it supports cross-platform play between PC, mobile, and consoles (specific platforms to be announced). The title picks up after the era of the Five Heroes, sending players across the Cookie continent as darkness rises again.

Devsisters CIPO Eunji Lee described CookieRun: NewWorld as a major turning point for the series, steering its universe toward an unprecedented dimension. "[The game] is an attempt to organically connect the CookieRun IP assets that have accumulated over the past 10 years and beyond onto a single vast continent," she remarked. Locations and characters familiar to fans of the previous games will make their return, transforming into "living biomes that players can explore and experience firsthand."
Art director Jieun Lee noted that the RPG distinguishes itself from other open-world games by its environment, which is entirely composed of food—a point driven by developers who envisioned it as a game designed to whet one's appetite as they play. They made deliberate creative choices for each asset to make them "look moist and delicious," turning trees into roll cake forests, mountains into chocolate cakes, and clouds into whipped cream, among others.

In terms of its story, narrative designer Soohyun Kim stated that it operates "roughly along the same vein of life and livelihood touched in the other CookieRun games." However, it also adopts a broader perspective, exploring existential questions of life, meaning, and connection through gameplay.
"If we were to say that CookieRun: Kingdom tells the story of the Cookies within their kingdoms, and of fate and decision making," he shared, "Then CookieRun: NewWorld tells the story of the entire world around us, and all the beings that live together within it."
Other CookieRun Games in the Pipeline

The hour-and-a-half-long developer showcase also included news for other CookieRun titles, most of which are and will be available on iOS and Android. The most prominent in the list is CookieRun: Kingdom, wrapping up a five-year first act and heading into a new story arc in May. Chapter 2 introduces a new playable region and sets the stage with a timeline fracture that ignites war across multiple realities.
Moreover, the RPG and strategy title will collaborate with the award-winning animated film KPop Demon Hunters in April. "Chibi-fied" versions of the characters Rumi, Zoey, and Mira accompanied the reveal, with further details to be provided as the update approaches.

Aside from the IP's flagship RPG, key reveals included CookieRun: Crumble, slated for release in the second half of 2026. The upcoming game aims to deliver relaxed, approachable gameplay by drawing on cues from idle RPGs and casual mobile games.
CookieRun: OvenSmash breaks new ground as the franchise's first step into real-time PvP combat, releasing this week on March 26. Set in Platter City, the game introduces a fresh urban-fantasy world centered on the Oven Crown Cup. Players deploy Cookie teams in quick three-minute matches across six modes, strategically using abilities and Spell Cards to turn the battle in their favor.
Moving into tabletop trading card territory, CookieRun: Braverse will launch a new booster set called A Game of Truth and Deceit on March 27, introducing 304 new cards, two new set themes, and a new mechanic.
Expanding and Evolving CookieRun

In February, Devsisters outlined their 2026 multiverse IP strategy to expand and evolve CookieRun into a "flagship Korean brand" and a "global super IP" that transcends genres, platforms, and cultural experiences. To do so, the CookieRun universe "organically connects" over 500 original characters and the Cookie World at large.
"Each CookieRun title delivers its own story and genre-specific experience, while also contributing to a larger interconnected universe," the post on their website read. "Together, these titles form a central narrative hub that allows the IP to expand while generating strong cross-title synergy."

Apart from the CookieRun games, the strategy covers cultural expansion and offline events. Another collaboration is in motion as CookieRun: Braverse will be brought into Roblox. The franchise has also partnered with Korea's Cultural Heritage Administration and had a special exhibition at Deoksugung Palace’s Dondeokjeon Hall. Last but not least, Devsisters promised more on-site experiences for fan gatherings, including exhibitions, pop-ups, trading card games, esports tournaments, and fan festivals.
"By centering on expansion and evolution, we aim to build a solid foundation for sustained growth and take another step forward in CookieRun’s path to becoming a global super IP," CEO Kilhyeon Cho said.
