Complete the Putrid Paradise Myth

Tatsumaro Putrid Paradise Quest Start

Tatsumaro the Dung Lover can first be encountered in the Heian era. He can be found standing on the roof of a submerged house in the flooded area of Rajomon, in Hachijo. Talk to him to start the Purtrid Paradise side quest, which you must complete to find him again in the Eternal Rift.

Find Tatsumaro in the Eternal Rift

After completing Putrid Paradise, head to the Blacksmith in the Eternal Rift. Then, drop down the ladder in the corner, to the right of the Fox-eyed Blacksmith.

Destroy the boulder Spirit Vein in the corner using Kongojishi. Then drop down through the hole that opens up.

Continue forward and drop down the edge all the way to the bottom. There is no fall damage in this area, so don't worry about dying.

Tatsumaro the Dung Lover will be down there and is available to speak to. Talk to him, and you can give him Dung Balls and Noble Dung Balls for the hidden trophy and rewards.

To exit the cave, turn around from Tatsumaro and climb up the ladder by the standing torch, heading back up to the Eternal Rift.

Once Putrid Paradise is complete, Tatsumaro can be found in the Eternal Rift. Drop down to him, and you can give him Dung Balls and Noble Dung Balls to work your way towards the Dung Ball Roller hidden trophy, three Smithing Text rewards, and the Blackened Key.

Give Tatsumaro 30 Dung Balls

To unlock the Dung Ball Roller trophy, give Tatsumaro 30 Dung Balls. Rarer Noble Dung Balls also count, and each one is worth two points toward the total of 30.

Dung Balls are a random drop from most standard enemies, while Noble Dung Balls can drop from higher-level enemies.

Along the way, he will reward you with various Smithing Texts at certain milestones. Once you reach 30 balls total, you will get the hidden trophy along with the Blackened Key.

Once you get the trophy, Tatsumaro will also give you the Blackened Key and the Conch Eboshi Smithing Text. The Blackened Key opens the door to the chest with rare loot on the second floor of the Blacksmith.
