The Shogun's Journey is a new difficulty unlocked in New Game Plus, where enemies and bosses will be harder to defeat, and they will deal more damage against your character.
On the bright side, completing missions and defeating the harder enemies and bosses gives you greater rewards and higher rarity in equipment, both for weapons and armor.
Players will be given items, like the Scarlet Sands of Despair or Sands of Recollection, after they replay some of the missions. These two items can be used to restore enemy bases and lesser crucibles, so that you can reconquer them again.
The restored enemy bases and lesser crucibles will, of course, be more difficult to conquer, but they will also give out more rewards than ever.
New Divine Tier weapons will also be available in New Game Plus. These weapons are a higher tier than the Exotic Tier in the initial playthrough. The Divine rarity weapons are have green text color and grant a randomized Grace effect.
Players can change the special effects on Soul Cores by visiting the shrines in New Game Plus. Soul Core Fragments can be used to change their desired Soul Cores, giving players a chance to experiment more with such items.
The Battle Scroll Missions at the Shrine let you decrease your level and sync it with your enemies to gain better rewards. Note that your level will only be lowered for a brief moment.

A New Game Plus feature is available in Nioh 3! It lets players experience the game again from the beginning, but this time it comes with a little bit more challenge.
In New Game Plus, players unlock a new difficulty called Shogun's Journey, where enemies are harder to defeat, higher-tier weapons can be discovered, and bigger rewards are available after completing missions.
