A Cause Too Great Mission Walkthrough

Walkthrough Objectives
1 Head to the Palace Grounds
2 Frozen City, Blazing Tree

Objective 1: Head to the Palace Grounds

# Walkthrough
1 It's time to head to the Palace Grounds, which is swallowed up by a giant Crucible. The recommended level for this mission is at least level 86, so prepare yourself and raise your level if you need to!
2
When you're ready, fast travel to the Anneibo Temple shrine and head left, towards the giant red seal. You will meet Minamoto no Yoshitsune who will remove the seal for you.
3 Enter the Crucible ahead to continue.

Objective 2: Frozen City, Blazing Tree

# Walkthrough
1
From the entrance of the Crucible, head down the snowy slope and into a cave, where a Bodhisattva statue is located at a split in the path.
2
Turn left at the statue and the first lamp lit by Kusanagi's Light to guide you through the Crucible will light up in front of a cavern with glowing blue crystals.
3
Take a left at the lamp, over the blue stone floor and to the second lamp. You can keep going straight from there to the next lamp, where the road makes a right turn.
4
The turn leads to a lower level that goes straight to another lamp, and past that is a winding path leading to a collapsed gate with lit lanterns. On the other side of this collapsed gate is the next lamp and a Spirit Vein.
5
Ride the Spirit Vein to the second Bodhisattva statue in the Crucible. A short scene will play once you get to this statue.
6
To the left of statue is an incline, and straight ahead is a cluster of lotus-shaped ice blocking the path. Go up the incline and break the largest lotus-shaped ice on top to get rid of the blockage.
7
Continue down the path to a courtyard with a few lotus-shaped ice, with the next lamp on the other side. There's also a hot spring inside the house to the initial lamp's left side.
8
If you go up the ledges to the left of the courtyard, there will be a One-eyed Oni guarding the largest lotus-shaped ice you need to break to get rid of the ice in the courtyard. Note that this will turn all the ice in the courtyard into water.
9
Outside the courtyard to the right, are floating platforms in between a gap in the ground. Cross this gap to get to the next lamp, and more lotus-shaped ice blocking the way through a house.
10
Go past the house and turn right before the large wooden building, where you can jump up on a ledge marked by a corpse. You will now be on the same level as the entrance to the nearby building, with the largest lotus-shaped ice inside. Beware the yokai guarding it!
11
You can jump directly down and go back to the newly opened path through the broken house. The next Bodhisattva statue is just ahead.
Note that there is a house on top of the incline beside the statue, which contains a chest and the sword Odenta Mitsuyo, which is required for the Memories in the Blade myth!
12
From the statue, head up the incline and around the bend to several raised platforms, one with a One-eyed Oni and another with a large lotus-shaped ice you can break.
13
When the ice is broken, cross the bridge up ahead follow the path heading steadily upwards and to the next lamp, and eventually a statue.
14
Right by the statue is a Spirit Vein leading up to the gates surrounded by benevolent graves. Open the gate for the next cutscene.
15
Defeat Minamoto no Yoritomo in combat to continue! This boss favors quick dash attacks and spinning attacks you need to watch out for.
16 After defeating Minamoto no Yoritomo, a cutscene will play before you can break the spike and cleanse the Crucible.
17 Speak with Shizuka Gozen, who will be present in the arena. If you want to continue straight to the next mission, speak with her a second time.
