Walkthrough Objectives
1 The Sweet Sound of Strings

Objective 1: The Sweet Sound of Strings

# Walkthrough
1 After the cutscene, you will arrive in Bakumatsu, in 1864 CE - Kyoto. Follow the path surrounded by spikes until you get to a cliff. There will be a Spirit Vein you can ride down to ground level.

A New Era Shrine
From there, you can go down the ledges and a set of stairs to a shrine and a large, open courtyard.

A New Era Incense
Go through the alleyway to the left, one house past the shrine, and down stone steps. You can hit the purple incense burners to distract nearby yokai.

A New Era Incense
At the bottom of the stairs, turn left into a narrow alley to get off the main street. On the other side of this alley is a stack of hay bales you can jump up on to get to a wooden platform. You can shoot the incense burner across the street or ambush the passing yokai from above.

A New Era Shrine
Down the street would be a wall of spikes blocking the way. Open the door to the right side at the end of the street and go up the stairs to find another shrine.

A New Era Ladder
Past the shrine is a room and a bridge leading out to the house across the street. There will also be a ladder by the bridge you can take to go down to street level on the other side of the spike wall.

A New Era Trip Wire
Head left, into the large building across the street. Note that there are trip wire traps in some of the rooms and hallways, which will shoot at you if you break them.

A New Era Stairs
At the other end of the building, past an inner courtyard, there is a corner hallway that leads to some stairs.

A New Era Stairs
Go up the stairs and through the second floor of the building until you find the stairs leading up to the next floor. Open the door on the upper floor to enter a cutscene.

A New Era Takasugi Shinsaku
You will need to fight Takasugi Shinsaku, who fights with both a gun and a sword. He makes use of both long-ranged and melee attacks.

A New Era Takasugi Shinsaku Defeated
After beating him, talk to Takasugi Shinsaku again to complete the mission.
