List of Contents

Spirit Veins are the glowing golden aura from the ground that can be interacted with to summon a Guardian Spirit that can help players cross or traverse over an impassable or blocked path.

The Spirit Veins are marked on the map as a hexagon with a 4-sided star inside of it. This makes it easy to track them while exploring a certain area of the map.
The Spirit Veins are unlocked after completing the first crucible, defeating the Jakotsu-baba boss. The Spirit Veins can be seen on the map afterward. Enko is the first Guardian Spirit that can be used to activate Spirit Veins, specifically the wall-running variants.

Players can use a Spirit Vein by getting close to its interactable golden aura and pressing the corresponding button. There are different types of Spirit Veins, each of which must be opened using a specific Guardian Spirit.
To interact with them, have the correct Guardian Spirit accompany you, then hold the R1 button for PS5, the RB button for controllers on PC, or the E key on keyboard to let the Guardian Spirit do its work.

Each Spirit Vein type requires a specific Guardian Spirit to be able to use them. This can be easily tracked down on the map.
If the hexagon on the map is white, it means the player has the Guardian Spirit that is required to perform the Spirit Vein. If the hexagon has a lock symbol, it means the player has yet to find the correct Guardian Spirit for it.

The Guardian Spirit Enko helps you wall-run to cross over huge gaps and reach small areas, where players can find new skills or martial arts.

After unlocking Kongojishi by beating Shingen Takeda in the Tiger's Cause mission, you can use them to destroy yellow-marked walls to open up new paths. Both Ninja and Samurai Kongojishi variants can do this.

Kurama Tengu is unlocked after beating Great Tengu. With this Guardian Spirit, you can vault up narrow, elevator-like yellow walls, allowing you to traverse up and reach the top.

Oh is unlocked after defeating Minamoto no Yoritomo at the end of the Heian era. They can help with Spirit Veins that require you to fly upwards.
