Run into the Mysterious Ninja Near Omomiji Junction

Nioh 3 Those Who Live in the Shadows Unlock

Head north of the Iinoya area, in the direction of the Omomiji Junction shrine. Once you pass the crossroads where a group of stacked tombstones are located, the voice of a mysterious ninja will appear and the mission is unlocked.

Head to the abandoned temple south of the starting point, right by the Temple Ruins - Cemetery shrine which you can fast travel to.

Nioh 3 Those Who Live in the Shadows 2
Once at the temple, climb two sets of ladders to get to the top room. There will be a yokai in the top floor, as well as a corpse. Interact with the corpse to get the Deserted Village Key.

Fast travel back to the Omomiji Junction shrine and take the west road through the forest and low valleys. You should pass by a well and a house, with the wooden gate to their right side. You can use the Deserted Village Key to open this gate!

Head down into the village to meet the mysterious ninja again. Afterwards, you must fight alongside the mysterious ninja and get rid of the yokai at the house. You will need to talk briefly with the mysterious ninja before continuing.
5 Head through the house to the other side, then up onto the rocks and deeper into the village. Note that there will be many yokai along the way.

At the highest point in the village is a large house with closed wooden doors. Open the doors to go inside and defeat two waves of yokai, with the final wave being the Ninja Yoki boss.
7 After defeating the Ninja Yoki, talk to the mysterious ninja to complete the mission. He will remain in the house as a 'Master' you can challenge for a spar.
