![]() Fast travel to the Imperial Palace shrine and head north, where Takasugi Shinsaku and Himiko are standing near the entrance to the Imperial Palace Crucible. |
| 2 |
![]() Inside the Crucible, go up the road to the right to find the first Bodhisattva statue. Past that, go down the roof and past an open gate to find the first lamp lit by Kusanagi's light that marks the right way. |
| 3 |
![]() From the lamp, go past the house and head right where you'll spot another lamp by a large, partially-rotten house. Keep going down the path that curves to the right, where there's a glowing, red cave entrance. |
| 4 |
![]() Inside the cave, follow the path down to a large cavern. The way forward is a hole in the wall across the cavern past spinning mechanisms you can shoot down. Past the cavern, there will be a Spirit Vein to the right that you can ride up to the surface where a Bodhisattva statue is waiting. |
| 5 |
![]() Head right from the statue and down the road past a lamp, following the path that leads to disconnected ledges you need to jump across and another lamp. |
| 6 |
![]() Past the lamp is a field full of scattered spikes and enemies armed with cannons. Dodge their shots and take them down. The next lamp is by the gate to the right. |
| 7 |
![]() From the gate, turn right again and go up the centipede path which will curve down straight into a broken house. |
| 8 | If you go into the remaining part of the house and down a corridor, there is a Spirit Vein leading down. This will take you to an arena where you can fight the formidable yokai Onryoki. |
| 9 |
![]() To the left of the house is another path, which goes around and to a Spirit Vein going up, leading into a larger house with spinning mechanisms you need to watch out for. |
| 10 |
![]() Go through the larger house and out to the road, which you can follow down to a gate you can open. This gate leads back to a statue. On the right side before the gate is a Spirit Vein. |
| 11 |
![]() Ride the Spirit Vein up to another house. Through the house, you'll find a Hot Spring to soak in and a Nurikabe with loot to give. Once you're ready to proceed, find the stairs leading down to a large roof. On the far end of the roof is a hole you can use to get into the previous larger house's rafters. |
| 12 | The rafters of this larger house leads to a new path on the other side, containing a pond with wooden bridges. |
| 13 |
![]() Two lamps light the way to through the taller bridge, guarded by a Nuppeppo yokai. Past the bridge is a path to the left and a small house with a Bodhisattva statue inside. |
| 14 |
![]() |
| 15 | Entering the gate leads to the boss fight against Okita Soji. He is a melee fighter who likes to employ grappling attacks. He will also enter a second phase when his health drops by half, making his attacks harder to interrupt.
Note: This fight will be skipped if you've defeated Okita Soji at the Mibu Temple, which can be unlocked by finishing the Peerless Katana myth. |
| 16 |
![]() Defeating Okita Soji will immediately lead you to a cutscene and a fight with Tokugawa Yoshinobu. He has transformed and filled the arena with shallow water. Be careful of his jumping and diving attacks, and the sweep of his large tail. ▶ How to Beat Tokugawa Yoshinobu |
| 17 |
![]() After defeating Tokugawa Yoshinobu, you can break the spike and cleanse the Imperial Palace Crucible. |
| 18 |
![]() Head out of the arena to the Spirit Tree after meeting up with Himiko and Takasugi Shinsaku. Another cutscene will play, after which the mission will end and the next one begins. |
