7 Samurai Weapons

When switching to the Samurai fighting style, you'll have 7 weapon types available. During the tutorial, the starting 4 options will be the Sword, Dual Swords, Spear, and Odachi.

Weapons	Stat Scaling and Overview
Sword	Heart	Strength	Intellect
Sword	A regular katana with medium reach in melee. Easy to use due to its familiar moveset compared to other Samurai weapons.
Dual Swords	Heart	Strength	Magic
Dual Swords	A pair of shorter katanas that make use of quick attacks. It has a unique charged strong attack that has you lunge forward multiple times.
Spear	Cons.	Heart	Skill
Spear	A polearm with a very long reach in melee. Its range allows you to get easy opening hits, especially against regular-sized enemies.
Odachi	Stamina	Strength	Magic
Odachi	A very large sword that does fast, sweeping strikes in melee. Uses a lot of Ki when attacking due to its weight.
Axe	Cons.	Stamina	Strength
Axe	Heavy, two-handed weapon that does slow, sweeping arcs when swung. Uses a lot of Ki when attacking due to its weight.
Switchglaives	Skill	Intellect	Magic
Switchglaives	Unique weapon that has 3 different forms depending on your stance (Chakram in Low Stance, Glaive in Mid Stance, and Scythe in High Stance).
Cestuses	Heart	Stamina	Strength
Cestuses	Blunt fist weapons that are great a breaking enemy Ki with multi-hit attacks.

7 Ninja Weapons

When switching to the the Ninja fighting style, you'll be able to choose between 7 different ninja weapons. A few minutes into the tutorial, you'll be made to choose between 4 starting ninja weapons - the Ninja Sword, Dual Ninja Swords, Kusarigama, or Hatchets.

Ninja Sword	Strength	Skill	Intellect
Ninja Sword	A katana that performs attacks in quick succession. It can easily chain light and heavy attacks together.
Dual Ninja Swords	Heart	Intellect	Magic
Dual Ninja Swords	An even faster swinging pair of dual katanas. Its charged strong attack performs multiple hits in quick succession.
Tonfa	Cons.	Strength	Skill
Tonfa	A pair of short, blunt sticks that has an almost similar range to fist-type weapons. Deals a lot of Ki damage on hit.
Kusarigama	Cons.	Skill	Magic
Kusarigama	A sickle chain weapon that does fast, sweeping strikes in a wide arc. It has a similar charged strong attack to the Dual Ninja Swords.
Hatchets	Stamina	Skill	Intellect
Hatchets	A pair of small hatchets that you can throw when doing a charged heavy attack.
Splitstaves	Strength	Intellect	Magic
Splitstaves	Versatile weapon with a long reach. Deals blunt damage making it good at breaking the enemy's Ki with multi-hit attacks.
Talons	Heart	Stamina	Intellect
Talons	Fist weapons that are great at chunking HP due its multi-hit attacks.

3 Ranged Weapons

There are 3 different Ranged weapons available in game. During the opening segments, you'll have access to the Bow first.

Weapons	Stat Scaling and Overview
Bow	Heart	Skill	Intellect
Bow	Long range weapon that fires arrows. Headshots against regular human enemies will usually result in an insta-kill.
Rifle	Heart	Skill	Intellect
Rifle	Ranged weapon that does a ton of projectile damage when fired but needs to do a slow reload after each shot.
Rifle	Heart	Skill	Intellect
Rifle	Deadly, close-range firearm that can interrupt enemy attack animations when fired.

How to Get Weapons

Dropped by Enemies and Bosses

Weapons in Nioh 3 can randomly drop from enemies and bosses found throughout the world. Crucible variants of these weapons also have a chance to drop when killing enemies and bosses inside Crucibles.

Can be Forged via the Blacksmith

Smithing Text Crafting

If you've unlocked the Eternal Rift, you'll also gain access to the Blacksmith. This special NPC allows you to forge any weapon so long as it's available on their recipe list. Obtaining a weapon Smithing Text will also unlock it for forging at the Blacksmith.
