Complete the Sacred Mountain Defiled Main MIssion
When you complete the Sacred Mountain Defiled mission, which is part of The Age of Clans Begins, the Memories in the Blade myth automatically unlocks.

Memories in the Blade Walkthrough

| 1 | Enter the Eternal Rift and speak with the Fox-masked blacksmith. The blacksmith will ask you to look for three legendary blades in Heian-Kyo. |
| 2 |  The first blade is on the west side of Hachijo. Fast travel to the Nishiichi shrine and head north, following the path up the hill and into an area full of broken down houses and a few small yokai. |
| 3 |  There will be boxes hiding a Spirit Vein in the left-side corner of the area, which you can use to get to the large abandoned house on the other side of the rock barrier. |
| 4 |  Head to the back of the house and you'll find the first blade, Dojikiri Yasutsuna amongst a pile of rocks. |
| 5 | Bring the blade to the Fox-masked blacksmith in the Eternal Rift, who will then give you a clue to the location of the second blade. |
| 6 |  The second blade is south of the Matsuo-taisha Shrine in Sagano. Fast travel to the Matsuo-taisha Shrine: Great Torii shrine. |
| 7 |  If you've opened the gate there while exploring before, then simply go to the house on the other side of the gate. Otherwise, you'll have to go the long way around. |
| 8 | Go up the stone steps and cut a path through the bamboo stalks. There will be a Crucible Wraith on the other side so be careful. After defeating it, there should be a gap in the bamboo where you can jump onto the roof of the house. |
| 9 |  Jump into the house through the hole on the roof and open the chest inside, which will contain the second blade, Mikazuki Munechika. |
| 10 | Bring the second blade to the Fox-masked blacksmith in the Eternal Rift. |
| 11 |  The third blade is within the Crucible at the center of the Palace Grounds. If you've already cleared the Crucible, you can use the Battle Scroll function to go back to the Frozen City, Blazing Tree mission and obtain the sword this way. |
| 12 |  From the Palace Grounds: Shunka Gate statue, go up the slope and into the first house you see. The Odenta Mitsuyo will be inside a chest within the house. |
| 13 | Give the third blade to the Fox-masked blacksmith to help her recover her memories and complete the mission. |
