Unlocked During Escape From Hitokoto Slope
During the tutorial mission, you will borrow Nekomata from Hattori Hanzo, though the Guardian Spirit is not usable at that time. After completing the tutorial and moving on to the next mission, Escape From Hitokoto Slope, Nekomata will automatically be added to your Guardian Spirit collection.
If you selected Kusanagi's Ninja variant at the rift just before this, you must swap to Nekomata at a Shrine, as your character will have Kusanagi set on the Ninja slot by default.

Nekomata throws a series of kunai straight ahead, calling down lightning with each strike that deals damage in a small area of effect. This is useful against multiple enemies or large bosses.

This skill immediately makes you do a backflip kick imbued with lightning. It has a built-in backwards dodge mechanic, which can save you if you run out of Ki.
Nekomata Playstyle and Uses
Nekomata is a key companion throughout your journey. Beyond his role in the story, ths\ is a well-balanced Guardian Spirit with easy to use skills. Nekomata's special effect bonuses also enhance Ki recovery and Ki damage, synergizing with increased Final Blow damage. An excellent choice for ninjas who favor fast and aggresive damage.
