How to Beat Kajiwara Kagetoki
To beat Kajiwara Kagetoki, work together with Minamoto no Yoshitsune and attack only when he has Kagetoki's attention. Follow these steps to win the fight:
- Attack When Yoshitsune Has Aggro
- Get Ready to Dodge When He Turns to You
- Sidestep His Summons
- Use Your Own Summoning Seal
- Be Wary of Hatchets that Hit from Behind
- Outrun His Mezuki Summon
- Farm Levels and Better Gear
- Summon Assistance from Acolytes
- Use Talismans and Items for Buffs
Attack When Yoshitsune Has Aggro
Play it safe by hanging back, striking only when Yoshitsune is holding Kagetoki's attention. Be ready to evade or block the moment Kagetoki turns toward you and anticipate his attack.
Get Ready to Dodge When He Turns to You
Always be ready to react whenever Kagetoki turns towards you. This is your cue to dodge to the side and avoid his hatchets.
Sidestep His Summons
Circle around Kagetoki when he uses his summoning seal and sidestep to avoid getting hit.
Use Your Own Summoning Seal
Use your own summoning seal to overwhelm Kagetoki and deplete his Ki, opening him up for attacks.
Be Wary of Hatchets that Hit from Behind
Watch for the boomerang effect on Kagetoki's hatchets, as they deal damage on both the throw and the return.
The red attack variant leaves him wide open, making him easily punishable with a Guardian Spirit Skill to inflict a Burst Break. Alternatively, you can use Style Shift to counter the hatchets during the initial throw or the return trip.
Outrun His Mezuki Summon
When Kagetoki is about half health, he will start summoning a Mezuki. Instead of trying to block its attacks and risk losing your Ki, you can simply outrun it by sprinting backwards.
Farm Levels and Better Gear
If you're still struggling with Kajiwara Kagetoki, don't hesitate to farm some levels and equip better gear before trying again.

Summon Assistance from Acolytes
Summon an acolyte from nearby benevolent graves to serve as a distraction and help deal chip damage. You'll need Ochoko Cups to summon acolytes, which you can obtain by defeating revenants from bloody graves.
Use Talismans and Items for Buffs
Use talismans and items such as Power Talismans and Power Pills to boost your attack. Note that they do not stack and only refresh the duration of the attack buff.
