After unlocking the Eternal Rift, speak to Hattori Hanzo (he'll be next to the Blacksmith building) to get the mission, The Way of the Ninja: Novice. Complete it via the Shrine's Battle Scroll menu then, spend 1 Ninja Point to unlock this martial art.

Throw a pinwheel shuriken that damages enemies and returns to your hand after being thrown. More powerful than a normal shuriken, and ideal for hitting multiple enemies. Additional inputs after the pinwheel shuriken has returned to your hand allow for up to two extra throws that will not expend additional uses.
