Allows for extreme survivability

This weapon boasts a solid base magic attack stat. This stat does not get significantly better with upgrades, so the exact upgrades you get for it are a matter of preference.
That said, you'll definitely want to pick up the Debuff Resistance upgrade right away. For Aerith, more materia slots and MP will always be a bonus, so upgrade those right away too. After that, it is up to you as to whether you will prioritize her defensive or offensive skills.
