It’s a point system, the more you use a character to heal, stagger or beat a whisper, they get more pts and will show up during the sephiroth fight.
I spoke to Aerith and Barret before entering and got Tifa and Barret. This does not hold up
Scintilla is actually a counter, kinda like cloud's counterstance but stronger. Patiently block/roll, and if Sephiroth enters Scintilla stance, use that time to heal/buff yourself.
No it isn’t. I found it’s based on who you talk to before going through the void. First time I didn’t speak to anybody and got tifa and barret second time I spoke to aerith and tifa and got those two. To confirm this I spoke to aerith and barret the third time and got those two.
That wasn't true for me. Tifa was my character in the resolution in chapter 14, but my two characters for the fight were Aerith and Barrett.
I got Tifa's scene in chapter 14 but Aerith came to help for the battle.
The party is picked based on your choices through the game. The second character is always the character in the resolution scene in Ch.14.
Using the twin stinger to counter is genius.
