It is best to set your Battle Speed to Ultra Fast so that you'll breeze through battles quickly and optimize your EXP farming to its utmost.
| Ability | Effects |
|---|---|
| Whistle | Attracts enemies on the field. Learned by: |
Use Whistle to start a battle on command and summon Metal Slimes quickly. This way, you do not have to waste time running around trying to encounter it randomly.

Also, make sure to bind it to your short-cut commands so that you don't have to open the menu everytime you want to use Whistle.
| Ability | Effect |
|---|---|
| Critical Claim | A dream ability that can ensure a critical hit on an enemy. Learned from a scroll by: |
| Hatchet Man | Doesn't connect so often, but when it does, it can cause a critical hit. Learned by: |
| Lightning Thrust | The Souped-Up version of Lightning Slash. Guaranteed to land a critical hit if it connects with the target. Learned by: |
Relying on critical hits is the best way to defeat Metal and Liquid Metal Slimes before they escape. This is because it bypasses their insanely high defense, allowing you to take them out in a single hit.
List of All Spells and Abilities
| Recommended Weapons | |
|---|---|
| Demon Spear | This fiendish spear can take out its target in one hit if it strikes them in the right spot. Usable by: |
| Assassin' Dagger | Loved by assassins as it sometimes defeats a target with one slash; some wish it were more consistent though. Usable by: |
| Recommended Ability | |
| Assassin's Stab | An attack on an enemy's weak point that can sometimes kill instantly. Learned from a scroll by: |
Alternatively, you can also use weapons and abilities that have a chance of instantly killing metal slimes. However, unlike some critical hit moves, there's no way to guarantee an insta-kill.
| Recommended Abilities | |
|---|---|
| Mercurial Thrust | Strikes an enemy before anyone else can act. Learned by: |
| Call of the Wild | Summons a wolf warrior that unleashes four strikes on all enemies. Learned by: |
| Multifists | Unleashes a four-punch flurry of hits on all enemies. Learned by: |
| Falcon Slash | A double-slicing attack faster than a falcon on the wing. Learned by: |
| Hawkeye Claw | A strike that's nigh on undodgeable, unblockable, and unstoppable, even when the user is bedazzled. Learned by: |
| Metal Slash | An attack that's capable of damaging a single metal-bodied foe. Learned by: |
| Recommended Weapons | |
| Falcon Blade | Allows the wielder to deal a double slice faster than a falcon on the wing. Usable by: |
| Falcon Sword of Ruin | A phantasmal blade whose method of creation is mired in mystery. Some even say that it involves the manipulation of existence itself. Usable by: |
There is always the option to use attacks that either have multiple hits or are guaranteed to hit metal slimes. This is more consistent than chancing for non-guaranteed crits or insta-kills, but the trade off is that the slimes can run away before you finish them off.
| Item | Effects |
|---|---|
| Coagulant | Confuses all enemies. Consumed upon use. Purchased at various Item Shops |
Use Coagulant to place the Metal Slimes in a state of confusion. This will prevent them from escaping. However, this item costs 310 gold each, and it's not a required step if you are low on funds.

The fifth floor of Citadel Tower is a perfect spot for hunting Liquid Metal Slimes in the Post-Game. Liquid Metal Slimes are toug enemies, but multiple encounters can reward around 110,000 EXP per party member in a single battle, since you can encounter up to 7 slimes per battle, making this an efficient grind for maxing out your party.
