Mariella can cast Kacrackle, which can deal huge damage to the entire party. Use Magic Barrier to minimize the damage you take from it.
Magic Barrier Effect and Level Learned
Since Mariella is airborne, you can capitalize on this by using Flying Knee to inflict heavy damage. Combine this with the Princess of Cannock’s Egg On and the Princess of Moonbrooke’s Oomph to maximize the attack’s output.
Mariella is also undead by nature, so another move you can use is Undead Undoer. This too can be boosted by the buff spells mentioned above
All Buffing Spells and Abilities
Mariella is also vulnerable to sleep, so you can use the Princess of Moonbrooke’s Snooze or the Princess of Cannock’s Sleepy Slap to put her in that state. This also prevents her from summoning allies, allowing you to focus on her more during combat.
All Status Effects and How to Cure Them
Mariella can also use Bounce, allowing her to reflect any spell cast on her. Stick to physical attacks when she uses this to avoid having your spells reflected back at the party, especially debuffs.
All Debuffing Spells and Abilities
On your second encounter with Mariella, putting her to sleep takes priority to prevent her from calling in allies. This also gives you free turns to either go on the offensive or apply buffs and debuffs.
If you need to go on the offensive, you can use the same strategy by using either an Egg-On or Oomph-boosted Flying Knee or Undead Undoer. This should allow you to deal significant damage to Mariella, especially when she’s asleep.
All Buffing Spells and Abilities
If she manages to call in allies, you can shift your focus to them and defeat them first. Once they’re gone, go ahead and try to put her to sleep again before going on the offensive.
All Status Effects and How to Cure Them
If you want to play defensively, make sure to also use Magic Barrier and Brownie Boost. Magic Barrier should help you survive her hard-hitting spells, while Brownie Boost can raise your defenses and restore both MP and HP.
