How to Beat Octavian
- Use Soul Asylum

- Use the Princess of Cannock as a Support
Use Soul Asylum
Octavian can deal heavy physical damage and can parry or reflect any of your offensive attacks. A good way to counter this is to use Soul Asylum, an ability the Prince of Midenhall can use to render the whole party invincible.
However, this ability is very costly in terms of MP, so make sure to bring MP-recovery items such as Magic Water to conserve his MP and allow you to use it more often later.

Use Brownie Boost to Recover MP
Another spell you can use is Brownie Boost. It increases your defenses in combat while also restoring both MP and HP at the same time.
What Does the MP Stat Do
Attack on Even Turns
On odd turns, Octavian follows a pattern of two offensive moves followed by a defensive action, either using Bounce or erecting a shield. On these turns, it’s best to stay defensive or use them to apply buffs to your team, especially if Octavian raises his agility, which can render your attacks ineffective if he erects his defenses first.
For example, with Princess Moonrbooke, you can use the first turn to prepare, then cast Wild Side on turn 2, Channel Anger on turn 3, and Kaboom on turn 4.

Use Channel Anger-boosted Kaboom
Once you’re ready to go on the offensive, use Kaboom to deal heavy damage to Octavian, which you can further boost with Channel Anger.
If you also use Wild Side, you’ll be able to cast the spell twice.

Use Blade of Ultimate Power
You can also use the Blade of Ultimate Power as an alternative. Its damage output will always be 650 or more, meaning you don’t need to boost the Prince of Cannock’s stats to deal heavy damage.

Use the Princess of Cannock as a Support
The Princess of Cannock will mostly serve as support during the battle. You can have her cast Kabuff or use Magic Water on the Prince of Midenhall to help conserve her own MP.

Octavian can be encountered on the Ghost Ship, a secret location that doesn’t appear on the map as it continuously roams. If you do spot it, simply head to the bow to encounter Octavian.
