Dragon Quest 2 HD-2D Remake (DQ2)

How to Beat Striking Sabrecat

Add to Watchlist

Striking Sabrecat is a boss encountered in the Dragon Quest 2 HD-2D Remake (DQ2). See how to beat this boss, the best equipment for the fight, and the boss' stats and moves here.

How to Beat the Striking Sabrecat

Counter Wild Side with Kaclang

At around half HP, Striking Sabrecat will use Wild Side to act four times a turn. When this happens, it's recommended to use Kaclang so that the party becomes immune and you can wait out the buff.

Kaclang Effect and Level Learned

Always Maintain Kabuff

Since the Striking Sabrecat only uses physical attacks, using Kabuff becomes necessary to reduce the amount of damage the party takes. Just make sure to watch everyone's HP and heal when necessary.

Kabuff Effect and Level Learned

Try to Apply Dazzle When It's Safe

Whenever the party is buffed up and fully healed, you can opt to try to Dazzle the boss. This will make it so that the party is less likely to be hit by powerful attacks, but it isn't guaranteed, so only attempt this when it's safe to do so.

Dazzle Effect and Level Learned

Spam Cattle Prod

During the fight, it's recommended to have the Prince of Midenhall as the main attacker using Cattle Prod. This means that the rest of the party should aim to support him and keep him alive in battle.
