Some scrolls come with multiple copies, but others, like Wild Side, only exist once in the entire game. Since scrolls disappear the moment you use them, you really have to think about which character benefits the most before committing.

Certain items and equipment in the game are limited in quantity. Selling them might make them permanently unavailable, so always double-check before parting with rare gear.
This is especially important if the item has unique effects especially in battle!
| Location | Monster and Availability |
|---|---|
| Moonbrooke Castle | ・Illerpillar Appears in Moonbrooke but will disappear later on |
| Faerie Palace | ・Heyedra ・Hoodlum ・Lump Shaman Disappears once the Palace gets rid of monsters |
Some monsters stop appearing after certain story events. If you’re aiming to complete the monster encyclopedia or collect rare drops, make sure to defeat them before advancing the plot.

Giving the Ygdrassil Leaf to the Young Thief in the Thief's Hideout triggers alternate dialogue and cutscenes later in the story. While it doesn’t change the main plot, choosing not to give the leaf means missing these unique scenes. Save beforehand if you want to see both versions.

When you arrive in Burrowell, you’ll eventually be asked to pick a side, either the Princess of Moonbrooke or the Prince of Cannock.
Choosing between the two only changes a few lines of dialogue leading up to the battle. Aside from that, the story continues exactly the same, so you’re free to choose whichever you like.
Moonbrooke or Cannock in Burrowel: Who Should You Choose?

Cursed items cannot be removed normally once equipped, potentially limiting your character’s flexibility. Luckily, visiting a church or using the Sheen ability allows you to safely remove them, so you don’t have to permanently commit to a cursed piece of equipment.
How to Remove Cursed Equipment

In Dragon Quest 2 Remake, you can rename any character, including the main hero, by talking to the NPC on the left side outside the castle on Isle of the Monarch of Medals.
There’s no cost, and you can change names as many times as you like, giving you full freedom to personalize your party.
What are the Characters' Canon Names?

Unlike in the original game, seeds are no longer strictly limited items. You can farm them from monster drops throughout the world, giving you flexibility to gather more as needed.

The remake also now allows you to adjust difficulty at any point in the game. This makes it easy to experiment with harder or easier settings, ensuring the experience stays challenging but fair, no matter where you are in your adventure.
Best Difficulty Setting and Differences

Activating Dracky Quest sets the game to the easiest difficulty, ensuring your characters never die in battle. Your HP can drop no lower than 1, letting you breeze through tough fights without worry.
