Prince of MidenhallPrince of Midenhall Available from the start.
・Main Physical DPS with the highest raw damage potential.
・Learns powerful abilities like Wild Side to boost offense.
・Only learns abilities, can't use spells.
Prince of Cannock Prince of Cannock Talk to him at Leftwyne's Inn after exploring the initial towns and dungeons.
・A flexible attacker who can fight both physically and magically.
・Good all-rounder but outclassed by Prince of Midenhall in raw damage.
・Can step in as a support when needed.
Princess of MoonbrookePrincess of Moonbrooke Use Ra's Mirror on the Dog in Moonahan.
・A versatile magic caster with strong AoE spells
・Can shift between offense and support roles
・Shines in mid-to-late game with items like the Duplic Hat, though falls off in post-game
Princess of CannockPrincess of Cannock Joins after the events at Beran.
・A jack-of-all-trades who can fit into any role.
・Highly adaptable but lacks specialization
・Best used to balance out the team’s weaknesses.

There are 4 characters that will join the party in DQ2. You start with the Prince of Midenhall as the only member, and the other characters will gradually join thoughout the story.

In the HD-2D Remake of the game, the Princess of Cannock joins the party as a new fourth party member. In the older versions, she was only an NPC, and it looks like she'll have a more invovled role in the story this time around.
