While this doesn't cure a status effect, casting Fizzle to prevent the enemy from casting spells that apply ailments is the best way to prevent it from happening in the first place. As long as the enemy is susceptible to Fizzle, you should cast this spell if you know they can apply status ailments.
Fizzle Effect and Level Learned
If a character's been put to sleep, they will automatically wake up after a few turns. However, they will be completely defenceless while asleep, and they might die before they even get the chance to wake up.
A character that's been put to sleep will also wake up if hit by a physical attack, but you shouldn't rely on this happening since enemies can still attack other party members or use a magical attack instead.

If you go to a Priest or Nun, you'll be able to remove any Poisoned or Cursed status effects. However, this will cost gold, so make sure you have enough money beforehand.
| Item | Effect |
|---|---|
| Banishing Bell Accessory |
Increase resistance to Snooze and Fizzle |
| Fizzle-Retardant Blouse Top |
A top that stops spells from being sealed away, and as such is very popular with enchantresses everywhere. |
| Necklace of Immunity Accessory |
An unassuming necklace that helps prevent its wearer from succumbing to Poison. |
| Torc of Truth Accessory |
An intriguing necklace that helps prevent its wearer from becoming bedazzled. |
| Full Moon Ring Accessory |
A perfectly pure ring that helps prevent its wearer from succumbing to paralysis. |
There are various equipment and accessories you can find that can preven status effects whe you equip them.

To remove poison from a character, you'll need to either cast Squelch or use an Antidotal Herb. It's recommended to use a herb if you can, instead of casting Squelch, so that you can save MP to cast other, more important, spells.
