The Dragon Quest 1 remake takes 20-30 hours for the story and 5 additional hours to complete the collectibles. These collectibles are Sparkly Spots, Mini Medals, and Secret Spots, which are scattered all over the map.
It also features stronger enemies requiring more leveling up and weapon upgrades, thus resulting in the increase in time required to play. The 10-hour difference in range depends on the settings of game difficulty and combat speed.
