All Buffing Spells in DQ2 HD-2D Remake

Spell Cost Effect
Absorb Magic 0 When spells are directed at you, you absorb the MP it cost to cast them.
Buff 3 Significantly raises the defence of a single party member.
Kabuff 5 Increases defense of all party members.
Kaclang 6 Turns all party members to steel for several turns, rendering them invulnerable, but immobile.
Oomph 6 Significantly increases the attack of a single party member.
Magic Barrier 6 Builds a barrier around all party members that provides protection from enemy spells.
Snub 6 Builds a barrier that protects a single party member from spells.
Bounce 8 Forms a barrier around an ally that reflects the spells of friend and foe alike.
Insulatle 8 Forms a barrier that protects the user and any allies from breath attacks.
Brownie Boost 18 Increases allies' resistances and automatically restores their HP and MP each turn.
Hocus Pocus 20 Take a chance with Lady Luck! Only she knows what will happen.

Ability Cost Effect
Switcheroo 0 A super-special spell that swaps the caster's HP and MP.
Cop Out 2 Deflects enemy attacks onto an enemy or an ally.
Egg On 3 Cheers on an ally, significantly increasing their attack for one turn.
Muster Strength 3 Builds up energy to bolster the next attack.
Dodgy Dance 4 Employs fancy footwork to increase the user's ability to evade attacks.
Forbearance 4 Enables the user to stand between the enemy and their allies and soak up all incoming blows.
Snap, Crackle, Poof 6 Purple sparkles protect a single party member from instant death and status ailments.
Ripple of Disruption 10 Removes all beneficial effects from a single enemy.
Muster More Strength 12 Allows the caster to deal tripple the damage with their next attack.
Rough 'n' Tumble 13 Raises the caster's rate of evasion and likelihood of counter-attacking
Caster Sugar 15 Increases th magical might of offensive spells and the effectiveness of status-changing spells.
Brake Wind 15 Deflects breath attacks back at the enemy.
Twocus Pocus 15 Causes all spells cast to echo for a while, activating twice in a single turn.
Channel Anger 16 Greatly increases the damage done by any offensive spells the user casts.
Chant of Champions 20 Increases the caster's attack, defence, and chances of landing critical hits.
The Fight Fantastic 22 A daring dance that significantly increases the party's attack.
Gritty Ditty 30 Increases the party's attack and defence for a while.
Wild Side 30 Allows you to act twice per turn for a wee while.
Divide 40 Makes three clones of the caster which can carry out the same action three times per turn!
0 Zone 55 Allows a character to cast spells without using MP for a while.
Soul Asylum 70 Renders the entire party practically invincible!

Buffing Spells and Abilities Explained

Buffing Spells are Magical

Buffing spells are magic-based enhancements that raise your party’s stats or defenses during battle. They consume MP each time they’re used and are essential for tougher fights and boss battles.

Can't be Used While Fizzled

If the Hero is inflicted by Fizzled, it can't use spells until the effect expires.

Buffing Abilities are Physical

Buffing abilities are non-magical boosts or techniques that improve the party’s performance through physical means. Like spells, they consume MP but don’t rely on magical power.

Is Not Affected by Fizzled

Unlike Spells, Abilities are not affected by Fizzled, meaning the Hero can still use abilities even while inflicted by the effect.
