The Quin Mantha is an Armored MS that's better suited for a bruiser role and an off-tank rather than your team's primary tank.

Its defensive buffs include a ridiculously high HP pool, access to Assault on EX, a damage reduction buff, and beam and projectile damage reduction buffs.

While its defensive buffs make it quite troublesome to take down, it's not as good defensively as today's best defensive picks, like The-O (Purple).

Today's best defensive units rely on powerful gimmicks or statuses that make them extremely tanky, to the point where you need to bring along certain counterpicks or else they will outlast your entire team.

The Quin Mantha does not have that, hence why it should be played as a secondary tank/bruiser rather than as your primary defensive unit.

One of the reasons why the Quin Mantha is extremely popular is that it is an Assault unit that is able to benefit from crit buffs, and deals good amounts of beam damage too.

It does not have crit buffs on its own, but it can be enhanced by something like the Support Qubeley or the Gundam Ez8.

If you did not already know, Assault-enhanced critical strikes are able to completely bypass Perfect Guard with a high guard rate. That said, it is very good against something like The-O (Purple) and the V2A Gundam.

A mobile suit that is able to drastically improve the Quin Mantha is the Methuss. The Methuss provides the Quin Mantha potent healing and a strong HP regeneration status, allowing it to last even longer than it normally would.

More importantly, the Methuss can resurrect the Quin Mantha with 45% of its max HP restored, should it fall in battle.

The Quin Mantha can be obtained via the Super Limited Mobile Suit Assembly Banner, as well as the 72-Hour Limit Mobile Suit Assembly Banner for 300 Diamonds per pull, and 3000 Diamonds for every 10 pulls.

Because it is featured in the 72-Hour gacha banner, the Quin Mantha can be acquired right when you start a new account. If you don’t have access to this banner, you'll have to wait for the next Super Limited gacha banner period in order to try your luck.

Ple-Two grants key buffs to both the Quin Mantha's offense and defense. The buffs she grants include ranged sense, accuracy, max HP, resistance, and reaction.

Not having Ple-Two on board this MS means that it'll compromise on either offense or defense in favor of the other, which is not ideal for a bruiser like the Quin Mantha.

While none of them are Assault bruisers that work very well with the Methuss, all these other high-tiered Armored Units earned their ranking by being exceptional at one or multiple things.

What all of them have in common is how they all excel defensively, with some being decently durable while others are extremely hard to take down.

If it’s the ability to bypass Perfect Guard + guard rate you’re looking for, an Assault MS alongside a crit buffer should do the trick.

However, this does not work on all Assault MSs, as most of them have self-inflicted crit debuffs that prevent them from landing crits. At the time of writing, the only Assault unit that can crit other than the Quin Mantha is the Theta Plus (Sniper).
