Event such as Lots of Large Fish and Bounding Bites increase the effects of the related activity. You can schedule your Exploration on your day off to particapate in those events.

You can now access the Armory and the Item Shop in the Marketplace to buy weapons and items for battle.
You will now unlock the Instruct feature, where you can teach and help your students grow stronger.
Instructing students take up activity points. Leveling up a student's skills will increase their support with Byleth. You can also assign them group tasks to raise skills and support level between the students.
Your students may also ask a question at the end of the lecture; answer properly to boost their motivation!

Certifications are unlocked as well. Partake in Certification Exams to unlock and equip into a new class. Your passing rate depends on the required skill level and the unit's skill level.
To practice utilizing Battalions, the Auxiliary Battle feature is unlocked.

If you have played the Cindered Shadows side story DLC, you now have access to the new location, Abyss. If you have finished all chapters, you will be able to recruit the Ashen Wolves. Complete quests and unlock new features that will help you with the game.

There will be some dialogue options before the fight but they won't provide any support bonuses no matter the choice you make.
For your first mission, you will lead a battalion to the Red Canyon to eliminate a group of bandits.
You will also learn about your ability, Divine Pulse.
