How to Beat Belome Rematch and Strategy

Have Protection Against Sleep

Super Mario RPG Remake - Have Protection Against Belome

Accessories How to Get
・Receive from the Vault Keeper during the Shymore invasion in Mushroom Kingdom. Can also be bought in Rose Town or Seaside Town shop for 42 coins.
・Defeat Whuhoh at the Sunken Ship.
・Get in the underwater room behind barrels at the Sunken Ship.

All of Belome's special attacks are still capable of causing Sleep, so it is important that you have equipment that can protect you from such status effect.

List of Status Conditions and How to Cure

Defeat Belome's Strong Clones First

Super Mario RPG Remake - Belome Will Be Shielded by Clones

Make sure to defeat the clones first that Belome summons to the field since he will be shielded by a barrier that makes him resistant to normal attacks as long they are on the field.

Use Elemental Special Attacks

Super Mario RPG Remake - Use Clown Car Barrage on Belome

Triple Move Effect and Active Members
Clown Car Barrage ・Attack all enemies with fire, ice, and lightning. Bowser finishes it off!
Mario
Bowser
Geno
Special Move Effect
Shocker
(Mallow)
・Press the button just before the bolt ends to increase the damage dealt by the special move.

Scratchy-Throat Belome is weak to Lightning attacks, so if you can use Mallow's Shocker, or already have an elemental Triple Move ready, do not hesitate to use it!

Any Special Attack will damage Belome even if he is protected by a barrier created by his clones.

Best Special Moves for Each Character

Prevent Enemy Specials with Mute

Super Mario RPG Remake - Using Mute on Belome

Special Move Effect
Mute
(Peach)
・Rotate the left stick to increase the range of the special move and target all enemies instead.

In any case you do not have enough equipment available to protect yourself with Sleep, you can use Peach's Mute to prevent any specials used by affected Belome and his clones!

Muting enemies will give you breathing room for any battle decisions such as healing or revives, as well as FP restoration since you can expect to use a lot of Special Moves.

Poison Belome with Poison Gas

Super Mario RPG Remake - Bowser Using Poison Gas

Special Move Effect
Poison Gas
(Bowser)
・Inflicts poison on all foes
・Rotate the left stick to increase the damage dealt by the special

Poison is effective on Scratchy-Throat Belome, so if you have Bowser out, you can cast Poison Gas to deal continuous 150-200 damage to him every turn.

Take note that an enemy cannot be affected by two status effects at the same time. Applying one will replace the other, so make sure to check first if you want to have enemies affected by either Mute or Poison.

Watch Out for Dangerous Attacks

Super Mario RPG Remake - Scratchy-Throat Belome Aurora Flash

Belome is still capable of using dangerous attacks such as Aurora Flash, so keep a look out!

Whenever no healing or recovery is needed during a turn, you can have your healers like Peach join in attacking Belome with normal attacks.

The "Clown Car Barrage" is with Mallow and Bowser, not Geno and Bowser.
