Protect Against Sleep and Mushroom State

Safety Ring	・Get in the underwater room behind barrels at the Sunken Ship.
Safety Badge	・Defeat Whuhoh at the Sunken Ship.
Wake Up Pin	・Receive from the Vault Keeper during the Shyster invasion in Mushroom Kingdom. ・Can also be bought in Rose Town or Seaside Town shop for 42 coins.
Trueform Pin	・Defeat Huhwhat in Kero Sewers. Can also be bought in Rose Town or Seaside Town shop for 60 coins.

Valentina is capable of inflicting Sleep and Mushroom status upon a member. It is a good idea to have accessories that can protect you from such status effects.

You will want to have the Safety Ring on Peach to protect from being silenced by Dodo's Flutter Hush.

List of Status Conditions and How to Heal

Position Bowser Second to Fight Dodo

At the start of the fight, Dodo will take away the second or middle party member to a separate battle. Position a member with strong attack moves such as Bowser in the middle prior to the battle.

Peach is not recommended in the one-on-one fight with Dodo, since you would want her as a healer during the initial two-man fight with Valentina.

Use Normal Attacks and FP for Recovery

Valentina tends to use powerful attacks regularly each turn, so expect Peach to be using Group Hug often.

Take care that you do not run out of any FP, so be conservative with any special moves your members make!

Prioritize Defeating Dodo First

When enough damage has been done, Dodo will return to Valentina's side after the one-on-one duel. Prioritize taking down Dodo first since his HP will have been reduced by then.

Defeating should also make the fight safer since no one will be able to cast silence on your party members!

Valentina's Dangerous Boss Moves

Valentina has strong party-wide moves and no weaknesses. But out of all of them, the most dangerous move she can use is Petal Blast.

Petal Blast is capable of turning the entire party into mushrooms. Protective equipment that prevents transformations or negative status effects like the Safety Ring will prove helpful in this fight.
