Super Mario RPG Remake - Boomer Blue Form
Blue Form
・Low attack power
・High magic attack power
・Low defense power
・Starts to use Shaker (instant death attack)

Boomer has two forms, signified by the change of color in his armor: Blue Form and Red Form.

During his red form, he will be weak to normal attacks. During blue form, he is weak to special moves.

The added twist with these forms is that he will use Shaker on any one your party members when his weakness is exploited. This means he will react with Shaker to special moves while on blue and regular attacks while on red.

Boost Attack and Defense with Geno Boost

Super Mario RPG Remake - Use Geno Boost During Boomer Fight

Special Move Effect
Geno Boost
(Geno)
・Increases a member's attack power.
・Timing your button press just before the arrow disappears will also increase your defense.

Take advantage of Geno's special move Geno Boost to boost your attack (and defense on a timed bonus). This comes handy when dealing with Boomer's form.

A good pattern to use Geno Boost is using it during Boomer's red form, and then attacking when he turns blue.

Best Special Moves for Each Character

Block Instant Death Attacks

Time your block right after Boomer swings his sword.

Boomer's Shaker is a notorious attack that causes Mortal Blow (also known as Instant Death), meaning it can defeat a party member in one hit. There are two ways that this move can be dealt with.

The first is by using Timed Blocks. A perfectly timed block will nullify all damage, while any slightly off the timing will bring the member to one HP.

The second is by using accessories that nullify Mortal Blows, like the Jinx Belt, Safety Ring, and Quartz Charm.
