How to Beat Gigas

Gigas Strategy

Press the X Button During the QTE

Before battle proper, there will be a cutscene where you will have to press the X button in order to avoid the damage from Gigas. Failing to do so will inflict damage on you.

Additionally, you can skip this cutscene when replaying the boss battle, in case you got defeated in the first turn.

When Head Glows Red, Parry Ahead

Gigas can be hard to read and unpredictable due to its vast array of attacks. But one thing is for sure, when its head glows red, this is a sign that it will perform 5 consecutive attacks.

While Gigas is doing this attack, do not attempt to retaliate in between the attacks as it will not flinch and will still continue the attack, rendering you vulnerable.

Time Your Blinks

Blink

Watch out when Gigas emits a Blue light as this means you will be using Blink in order to counteract his attack. Make sure that you wait for Eve's weapon to turn blue as well before performing Blink.

Drag and Grab

This attack will take some time to hit so you will need to be patient. As Gigas drags its arm on the ground, you will not be receiving damage as this is it attempting to do a Charged Attack.

After a few seconds, and before it deals its charged attack, it will begin emitting blue light. This is your chance to blink!

Double Hook and Slam

This move is easily noticeable when Gigas beats on its chest. When he does so, he will be unleashing two hooks and a slam for a finish. You have to blink as early as after he beats on his chest.

Head Swing

This is an attack where Gigas will use its head to attack. Be careful though, as even if you are far away, you can still be hit.

Back Grab

This move is actually a tricky attack as you cannot really perform Blink here. Though this only happens when Gigas has its back against you. It will beat its chest, which will make it emit the blue light, but you won't be able to perform a Blink due to the distance. The best advise to do here is to perform a Perfect Dodge.

More Attacks When Gigas is at 60% HP and Below

When Gigas' HP falls below 60%, it will be able to use more attacks from its repertoire. He will also be more unpredictable as it will switch upon every attack it has.
