| Steps to proceed through Evil By the Lake | |

| 1 |  The quest is located in the indicated area in the map, northeast of Paletteville. |
| 2 |  Fast travel to the Paletteville Fast Travel Flag. Head northwest of the big circle in Paletteville and run down the slope. Once at the bottom, run up ahead then turn left to a wooden bridge. You will be able to see the Darkmess Puddle from there. |
| 3 |  Interact with the Puddle to start the quest. Reach the designated area to complete the quest. |

Upgrade Rabbid Mario's movement range to get far in one turn. Also equip him with No Limits to have him position closer to the designated area even after attacking. To keep enemies away from you, use Ethering and Screech. |
