Steps to proceed through Roots of Corruption | |

1 | Defeat the Darkmess Taproot by attacking all the Darkmess Eyes at once. You can use Zephyrquake or Toxiquake to target multiple targets in a single turn. |
2 | Afterwards, you will need to survive for five turns in order to reach the bottom. Use the jump pads to move from both ends of the map to avoid the Wildclaws from moving near your Heroes. |
3 | Once you reach the bottom, prioritize heading to Darkmess Taproots through Team Jumps and using jump pads. Note: Keep in mind that destroying Darkmess Taproots also destroys nearby cover, so be sure to take enemies out as well as you head towards the Darkmess Taproots. |

Mario | Reflector | Use Mario as your primary attacker to eliminate the Darkmess Taproots using the Zephyrquake Spark. Have the Stomp, Stomp & Glide, and Extra Stomp skills unlocked in order for Mario to move around between the jumping pads and damage the enemies at the same time. Unlocking the Jump Shot is also recommended as most of the enemies in the second area can be targeted while in mid-air. |

Roots of Corruption unlocks after completing the Forest Rush battle quest. Make your way down the Abandoned Well and interact with the Darkmess Tentacle to start the battle.
This battle quest is part of the Off-Color main story quest in Palette Prime.
