| Steps to proceed through From Bad to Worse | |
|---|---|
| 1 |  Go down to the Temple Catacombs area of Beacon Beach and head to the northwest section of the cave. |
| 2 |  Interact with the fountain to receive a hint on how to solve the puzzle in the area. |
| 3 |  Place the correct faces to the corresponding paintings. Check the face to see if it lines up correctly with the rest of the painting. A cutscene should play once you solve the puzzle. Note: Check the following section below for the complete puzzle solution. |
| 4 |  Head up the stairs towards the exit. Head to the right side of the island to find the Darkmess Puddle. Heal up before starting the battle. |
| Steps to proceed through Kablooey Hoeey | |
|---|---|
| 1 |  Kablooey Hooey (Battle Quest) Equip a Hero with the Toxiquake Spark and have them Team Jump towards the two Bob-omb. Dash the first Bob-omb and throw it to the direction of the Darkmess Gate. |
| 2 |  Activate Toxiquake's skill to deal further damage to the surviving enemies and use the other two Heroes to finish them off. |
| 3 |  Try to get all of your heroes to cover behind the blocks near the Darkmess Gate. Wait for the Bob-ombs to respawn and get close enough that you can dash and throw them to the gate. |

If you have upgraded Edge's movement skills to allow her to perform extra dashes, this speeds up the battle as she will be able to pick up multiple Bob-ombs in one turn. Use Aquanox's skill to throw Stooges out of bounds whenever possible. |

Mario can target two enemies in one turn, making him a useful attacker for defeating the Stooges. Make sure to unlock the Stomp & Glide skill as this allows him to maneuver the area better and deal damage to the Stooges. Activate Toxiquake if there are multiple enemies surrounding you to deal damage and induce Ooze Super Effect which deals damage over time. |
