Star Potion | A Star Potion will automatically level up a Spark. |
Players can increase the level of their Sparks by feeding them Star Bits and Star Potions. These items can be obtained by defeating enemies, interacting with your surroundings during exploration, as well as completing Quests.
Make sure to level up your Heroes by taking part in battles, as you will not be able to raise the level of Sparks past a certain point, even if you have enough Star Bits to do so. Always confirm whether or not you are able to level up Sparks by checking the menu.

Pyrogeddon raining down fireballs on the field!
Sparks are assignable allies to Heroes that can help control the battlefield, grant elemental eeffect damage, resistances, and more. There are dozens of Sparks to choose from, each with varying abilities and effects that can enhance a Hero's effectivity in battle.
Players can assign one to two Sparks per Hero and can dictate the Hero's damage and resistances to certain elements alongisde other passives.
Unassigned Sparks and Sparks with Heroes that aren't used in battle will be placed on the Reserved Sparks section of the Sparks Menu.
Equip Sparks that inflict Super Effects |
Using those Sparks in battle will inflict the Super Effect on enemies. |
While their effects are the same, different Heroes can use certain Sparks more effectively. |
You can equip the Sparks to deal various Super Effects, such as Burn and Lifesteal. By Using's Beep-0's Tacticam, before battle, you can determine what Super Effects, and thus, what Sparks will help gain an edge in battle.
Some Sparks are used for overworld exploration. |
While they can't be used in combat, they will make uncover secrets and solving puzzles much easier. |
Throughout your adventures, you will encounter certain Sparks that can be used to help you explore the overworld.
While they have no combat capabilities, you should seek out these Sparks when you can, as they often make uncovering hidden areas and solving puzzles much easier.
Decibel Spark Location and How to Use
There is a Golden Pipe on each planet that you can only enter if you have the required number of Sparks in your party. These pipes lead you to an optional boss fight with a giant enemy.
Boss | Golden Pipe Location/Required Sparks |
---|---|
Giant Goomba | Beacon Beach 12 Sparks |
Giant Squashette | Pristine Peaks 19 Sparks |
Giant Depleter | Palette Prime 24 Sparks |
Giant Magikoopa | Terra Flora 28 Sparks |
Giant Magnafowl | Barrendale Mesa 30 Sparks |
Defeating Giant Enemies gives you a Gold Prism as a reward. This item unlocks a new Spark branch on the skill tree of the selected Hero, which enhances the power of equipped Sparks.
Note that, unlike Skill Prisms, Gold Prisms cannot be refunded once spent, so be sure to use it on a Hero you frequently use.
