Choose the Best Heroes for Each Battle

Character	Combat Style
Mario	All-Rounder The versatile Mario excels at targeting multiple enemies to whom he deals damage with a diverse array of attacks.
Peach	Protector Princess Peach is skilled at protecting the other Heroes even when they are otherwise vulnerable.
Luigi	Sneak Attacker Luigi does his best work from afar, where he is capable of attacks that deal a lot of damage.
Rabbid Mario	Brawler Rabbid Mario deals massive damage at close range, usually with his gauntlets, the Dukes!
Rabbid Peach	Combat Healer Rabbid Peach shines when she can heal the other Heroes while protected from attacks.
Rabbid Luigi	Pest Rabbid Luigi is most skilled at diminishing enemies by reducing the damage they are capable of dealing out.
Edge	Blade Master Edge's speed and skill allow her to target multiple enemies and damage each with a single action.
Rabbid Rosalina	Demotivator Rabbid Rosalina is adept at removing any protections enemies may have and at immobilizing them.
Bowser	Overseer Bowser shines when launching area attacks and spawning minions to do his bidding.

By knowing the strengths and weaknesses of the Heroes in your party, you can choose the right combination to conquer enemies in battle.

Choose the Right Difficulty For Your Playstyle

If you are having trouble with certain aspects of battle, the difficulty setting can be changed at any time. Everything from the enemy's health, to the amount you are healed after battles, can be customized to your preference.

Equip the Right Sparks

Think carefully when equipping Sparks.

While their effects are the same, different Heroes can use certain Sparks more effectively.

You can equip the Sparks that you rescue from Cursa to gain buffs and advantages on the battlefield.

There are dozens of Sparks to choose from, each with varying abilities and effects that can enhance a Hero's effectiveness in battle.

Master the Combat Mechanics

Use a Team Jump to reach higher places and gain a tactical advantage.

Stomp on enemies while in midair to ensure a safe landing while inflicting damage.

Dashing allows you to cover ground while attacking multiple foes.

Vault over partial cover to sneak past enemy defenses.

There are many other ways beside using a Hero's weapons and Signature Abilities to effectively win battles. Make sure to use the various combat mechanics available to reduce hassle when attacking and defending.

Effectively Use The Battlefield

Hide behind cover to attack enemies safely.

Attack elemental barrels to deal Elemental damage with out Sparks.

Take note of the various structures in your environment, such as Elemental Barrels and cover and make use of them when you can. Cover can and the defenses of even the frailest Heroes, while Elemental Barrels can deal elemental damage without using Sparks.

How to Use The Battlefield Effectively

Take advantage of Super Effects

By equipping certain Sparks or attacking elemental barrels you can inflict various super effects on enemies. The effects of these Super Effects vary, ranging form residual damage, to potentially ringing out enemies.

Explore the Overworld

Take the time to enter cannons and pipes to access new areas.

Use Beep-0 when you are lost to unlcok hidden paths and secrets.

Unlike the previous entry in the series, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hop allows you to explore the overworld unhindered. By effectively using Beep-0, you can uncover hidden paths, Sparks and Planet Coins.
