Gridless Turn Based Tactical Combat

Possibly the biggest change in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope from its predecessor is the movement of characters during combat.

Coming from grid-based tactical combat, players can now freely move their characters within a given movement radius before attacking and ending their turn.

All New and Returning Features

2 Actions Per Turn

Each Hero has 2 Action Points

Each Hero in your party is allowed only 2 actions per turn. Whether you choose to attack, use your Signature Ability, or use Sparks or Items, make sure that you plan carefully before controlling a Hero.

You Cannot Move After Attacking

Regardless of how many Action Points that you have remaining, you cannot move after using your weapon. Make sure to use cover and other objects to protect yourself so that you do not take any unnecessary hits.

Sparks are assignable allies to Heroes that can help control the battlefield, grant elemental damage, resistances, and more. There are dozens of Sparks to choose from, each with varying abilities and effects that can enhance a Hero's effectivity in battle.

Using Team Jumps to Your Advantage

Another method of traversal that can spice up your strategies in battle is by using team jumps.

A team jump requires two Heroes, one serving as a launcher to boost the other's jump. From there, Beep-0 will catch the Hero mid-air which allows the them to cover more ground by flying over obstacles and even attacking enemies!

Dashing Your Way to Things!

Dashing is an effective technique in battle, as it allows you to move switftly while also attacking.

It is best used when you want to get close to an enemy or cast the finishing blow to weakened enemies.
