Sullivan's Despair is a Side Quest in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope (Mario Rabbids 2). Read on for a walkthrough of the quest, including rewards, location, and how to complete it.

Steps to proceed through Sullivan's Despair | |
---|---|
1 | Climb up the ladder and enter the green pipe. Enter the cannon and use the Beep-0's Wave ability repeatedly to create a tree root bridge leading to the next area. |
2 | Head down the slope and use Beep-0's Scan ability to create a yellow bridge leading towards a white pipe. |
3 | Enter the white pipe and use the Wave ability repeatedly on the leftmost stone to create a tree root bridge. Use the Wave ability to activate the purple bridge on the far north that leads to the first Darkmess Thorn. |
4 | Cross the bridge to the first Darkmess Thorn and use the Wave abilty towards it to remove it. |
5 | Climb the ladder on the right and use the Wave ability to create a tree root bridge. Enter the white pipe to land on the small area with the Armored Goomba |
6 | Use the Wave ability on the stone on the left side to create the purple bridge leading towards the second Darkmess Thorn. |
7 | Use the Wave ability repeatedly on the second Darkmess Thorn to remove it. |
8 | Pick up the black and orange ring and drop down on the metal ledge. |
9 | Cross the tree root bridge and head down the area to find the corresponding Darkmess switch for the black and orange ring. |
10 | Enter the cannon to proceed to the next area. Use the Wave ability to form the purple bridge on the right side. |
11 | Use the Scan ability to create a yellow bridge that connects the two floating areas in the middle to reach the third Darkmess Thorn. |
12 | Use the Wave ability repeatedly to remove the third Darkmess Thorn. |
13 | Enter the cannon to reach the Darkmess Puddle. Interact with the puddle to start the battle quest, Hold that Train! |
Hold That Train Tips and Strategies | |

1 | Defeat the two Sea Stooges on the opposite sides of the area and activate the first switch. |
2 | Destroy the barrels near the Magnafowl to remove the Bob-ombs. Use Team Barrier to prevent your Heroes from getting hit by the Magnafowl's attack during their turn. |
3 | Have one Hero Team Jump towards the switch on the right side of the area. Activate the switch to uncover the third switch on the left side. Tip: Use Luigi with Extra Team Jumps unlocked to reach this area in a single turn. |
4 | Gather two Heroes and have one Team Jump the other towards the third switch to activate it. Tip: Use Edge with Glide Boost maxed out, Extra Dash, and Dash Increments Movement to reach this area in a single turn. |
5 | Have the Hero that activated the third switch use the jumping pads to return to the other Hero. |
6 | Use the Hero with one Team Jump left to jump across the jumping pad in the middle of the area. Jump from this pad to reach the platforms leading to the designated area to complete the battle quest. Tip: Use Peach with Movement Range maxed out and Glide Boost to reach the designated area in a single turn. |
