Right. I like them both but for different purposes in story. But it's unfair to compare my liking of anyone to Aerith since she is my favorite character in franchise. XD
Barret is actually a good choice, too minus the LB taking time to load. He's the range character but he can act as tank. Worth to mention, Barret has over 200 more hit points than Cloud.
Yeah. People should invest on Cloud. He's melee, attacks quickly, and his weapon gives him close combat advantage.

That's cool. But there are times Aerith won't be around. So, Tifa sometimes acts as healer. She can keep the party alive somehow.. but not as effective as Aerith as a healer. Tifa is more of a second melee. Her attack speed is incomparable. She can play support to Cloud in battle.
I agree, he will never be the main character if he is not the best right XD Also, I just like cloud, emotionless ex-soldier so hot Hahaha
Cloud and Aerith. They really tag along because Aerith heals. So its better to have Aerith around than Tifa. I also love her perkiness, outspokenness, innocence, determination, and bravery. <3

Tifa and Cloud <3 Not really into her “best friend love interest” archetype, but Tifa is a total badass!
i know where you're coming from. Tifa has a really interesting personality. She doesn't seem like the damsel in distress type and that's make her awesome :]
it's worth investing on cloud, not simply because he's the main character but his health is top notch. Plus, his most of his abilities deal wide hits physical strikes like his triple slash and Focused Thrust (not multiple damage) for staggering the enemies. I think his LB Ascension also good for boss fights, high damage for a single enemy.
Personally I've always liked Tifa way more than Aeris or Jessie. Her personality is a lot more interesting, her fighting style is awesome, and she's a much better fit for Cloud imo.

you can always use auto-cure materia for other characters. for cloud, for example, and tifa or barret. whoever has low HP and low Defense. Can't be sorry for equipping it on the wrong character.
nope, it won't. even if you refuse as cloud, she'll still force the flower on your face until you accept it.
